In this workshop Humphreys book on Lie algebra will be covered and Springer's book on algebraic groups will be done upto classification theorem. Though most of the theory will be done only over algebraically closed field there is a wave that it will be followed up by theory over base field.

It will be really useful for people working in group theory and specially students who are going to start their carreer in the subject. There will be very little prerequisites, for example, some basic algebraic geometry, thorough knowledge of linear algebra and Field theory and Galois theory.
